We are Ria and Alex T, but ART Furniture & Woodwork is thousand times better than RAT so here we are.
Ria a North Carolina native. Since childhood she was drawn to furniture. From an early age she learned to care for and gradually started to restore furniture. Over years she has gained many skills and assembled a great deal of experience.
Ria spent a decade living in Scotland which is where she met Alex. Living in another country is a dream very few people experience. Being surrounded by the history, architecture and countless museums stimulated her giving more drive to create beautiful pieces.
Alex grew up an ocean away and spent a large part of his life in education. His world changed when he met Ria. Upon relocations to the United States he became a self taught woodworker, drawing from the skills be had learnt from being schooled in the sciences.
Our live has husband and wife has been anything but conventional. We have had lived an extremely varied and exciting life. We have both been successful in a variety of fields.
Working together we have learned that our very different back grounds are our greatest strength. Our different approaches allow us to solve any problem and often is multiple ways. We share a strong work ethic and commitment to only give our best and to expect nothing less from each other.
